meet our
LYOCELL TWILL
What it is:
A wonder fabric made from the pulp of eucalyptus trees.
How it feels:
Smooth and soft, like a cross between cotton and silk.
Why we love it:
It’s as luxurious as silk while being a whole lot tougher and a whole lot gentler on the pocketbook.
This is what it feels like when the trees hug back.
Where we get ours?
We have one batch of lyocell fabric that is made in China using wood pulp sourced from Austria, and another that’s made and sourced in Canada. All of our suppliers adhere to the highest standards in sustainable forestry.

Fabric? From wood?
Yes, it’s weird and very cool. Pieces of wood are soaked in a solvent that separates the fibers into pulp, similar to the first steps of paper production. This pulp is further broken down into pure cellulose, which is put through spinnerets to create cellulose fibers. These fibers can then be spun into thread which is useful for a variety of purposes.
Why eucalyptus trees? Because they grow super fast, without irrigation, or any need for pesticides. Plus, since the fibers break down easily, 99.5% of the dissolving agent can be used repeatedly, reducing overall waste.

How to Wear & Care for Lyocell
Choose a lyocell tank or a lyocell dress when you need a dressier look but don’t want to bear the sweatiness of silk.
Lyocell has the ability to absorb up to 20% of its own weight in moisture, and it is incredibly breathable, which means there’s no need to wash it after every wear.
When it is time to clean, hand wash or machine wash in cold water with like colors and hang to dry. It’s also safe to dry clean. Do not iron the fabric, or risk a burned sheen on the surface! Instead, use steam. Don’t have a steamer? Hang it in your bathroom while you enjoy a hot shower.
